EMS exhibiting at Global Water Summit 2018
10 April 2018
Attracting top water leaders and business executives from around the world, the Global Water Summit (GWS) is renowned for high level attendance, networking opportunities and thought-leading content. EMS is delighted to be exhibiting at this recognised event.
Taking place in Paris between the 15th-17th of April, EMS will exhibit two of our current innovation projects CENTAUR™ and MANTIS™.
The CENTAUR™ project is a European Union Horizon 2020 Innovation Action. The aim of the project is to provide a cost effective, local, autonomous sewer flow control system to mitigate urban flood risk. A CENTAUR™ gate controls flow using an intelligent algorithm based on Fuzzy Logic to effectively utilise untapped wastewater network capacity. The system has wider benefits including reducing the frequency of spill volumes from CSO’s and controlling flow to pumping stations and wastewater treatment works. CENTAUR is also a complementary solution to traditional approaches and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS).
MANTIS™ (Monitoring Analytics to Improve Service) is a low-cost pump monitoring technology, intended for use in the developing world. Many hand-operated water pumps break down prematurely, leaving communities without a nearby source of water. MANTIS™ is a simple, online, remote monitoring technology which sends the operational status of hand water pumps via SMS text message to an online platform. This ensures rapid detection of issues for quick and efficient repairs.
We are looking forward to discussing these projects and participating at the event in April.
